In 2009 German photographer P.W.Voigt started collecting photos about nuclear research, the development of the atom bomb and the United States’ first forays into space. His collection soon grew into an archive of more than 1,000 original vintage photos, from the 1930s to the early 1970s. In the Concertgebouw’s idiosyncratic architecture, you can see a selection from that collection – the Strangelove Collection – and the series American Monuments, which features Peter Voigt’s more recent personal work.
